Susan Phillips, MMC City Clerk-has worked for the City of Greenwood Village, Colorado as a municipal clerk since September 2001. Prior municipal experience includes serving the City of Golden as Deputy City Clerk and as the Executive Assistant to the City Manager in Central City. She is a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Colorado Municipal Clerks Association(CMCA), Association of Records Management(ARMA) and Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM).

Susan received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation in 2001 and entered into the IIMC Master Municipal Clerk’s Academy, in February 2004.  Susan received her Master Municipal Clerk Designation in 2007.  As a member of the Colorado Municipal Clerk’s Association, Susan has served on the Webpage Committee since its inception, the Communiqué Committee, the Education Committee, Records Committee and is an instructor for the “On the Road Workshops.” She has served as the CMCA Past President, President, Vice-President and served on the IIMC Education Task Force (2007-2008)and IIMC Education and Professional Development Committee(2009-2011).

Susan was raised in Pueblo, Colorado where everyone knows where to get a “Passkey Special” and bringing cowbells to football games and high school graduations are the norm.  Pueblo is a multi-cultural community, predominantly composed of Hispanic, Italian and Slovenian populations who have been there for generations. Drawing from this unique cultural makeup, this community is well-known for its diverse and delicious foods. One of the largest steel-producing cities in the United States, Pueblo is sometimes referred to as the “Steel City”. And as the hometown of four Medal of Honor recipients — more per capita than any other city in the United States — Pueblo is also known as the “Home of Heroes.”
